Oceanfront Palm Beach Megamansion That Was Once Home to Gucci’s Heir Seeks a Record-Breaking Sale Price of $205 Million

A sprawling 4.2-acre seaside Palm Beach, FL, estate that was once owned by Aldo Gucci, former chairman of the luxury fashion brand, has just hit the market for $205 million—seeking to set a record for the most expensive home ever sold.

The 14,496-square-foot megamansion, which is located near the Palm Beach Inlet, is currently owned by the family of the late Frank and Maureen Wilkens, who purchased the 4-acre parcel for $13.9 million in 2002, three years before completing their eight-bedroom legacy compound in 2005.

Frank was a co-founder of Wilkens and Nanovic, which managed corporate pension funds.

While the megamansion is far from the most expensive home to have been listed on the Multiple Listings Service—an honor that is currently held by a spec mansion in nearby Manalapan, FL—it would set an all-time sale record if it manages to reel in anywhere near its astonishing $14,142 per square foot asking price.

The generational estate features 230 feet of direct frontage overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and boasts a six-bedroom primary estate as well as a two-bedroom guest cottage. It also has two swimming pools, a beachfront cabana, a six-car collector garage, and private beach access.

According to The Wall Street Journal, listing agent Christian Angle says the property does need to be renovated, but is not considered a teardown.

More jaw-dropping estates to make the week’s most expensive homes list include a newly constructed waterfront compound in Miami Beach, a 1.6-acre waterfront stone estate in Greenwich, and an eight-bedroom duplex in Manhattan’s Central Park Tower.
