Luka Doncic’s Fiancee Anamaria Goltes Shares a Glimpse Into Their New Life in Los Angeles After NBA Star’s Surprise Trade From Mavericks

Luka Doncic‘s fiancee, Anamaria Goltes, has given fans a glimpse into how their family is settling in to their new life in California—just three weeks after the NBA superstar was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers by the Dallas Mavericks in a controversial and heavily criticized move.

Basketball fans were left in an uproar on Feb. 2, when it was announced that Doncic, 26, would be leaving the Mavericks after seven seasons.

The repercussions had a major impact on the team, with sources telling ESPN that the Mavericks later chose to fire general manager Nico Harrison as a result of the team’s lackluster performance in the wake of Doncic’s departure.

His reported firing came after a meeting with the team’s owner, Patrick Dumont, according to the outlet—and comes after months of furious backlash from fans over the decision to let go of Doncic.

The deal—which also saw Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris heading to the Lakers, while the Dallas-based team acquired Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round draft pick in 2029—came as a shock to almost everyone within the NBA, including Doncic himself, according to reports.

Soon after the trade was announced, former NBA player Chandler Parsons made matters all the more complicated by claiming that Doncic had only recently purchased a $15 million home in Dallas for his family, including his daughter, Gabriela, who had just celebrated her first birthday.

Still, in the weeks since moving to L.A., Doncic has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the team, particularly when he helped to lead the side to a 107-99 victory over his former squad on Feb. 26.

And now Goltes, a model and influencer, has shared some insight into how she and Doncic have been adjusting to the West Coast lifestyle, taking to Instagram to give fans a peek at their new normal in California.

The mother of one, who shares 1-year-old daughter Gabriela with Doncic, shared a series of snaps on the social media platform, suggesting that the family is starting to find their feet, despite the sudden upheaval.

In one photo, Goltes and Doncic cozied up on their L.A. balcony as they took in the sweeping views of the beach.

Another flick saw the blonde beauty—who got engaged to Doncic in July 2023—donning a Lakers hat and grinning from ear to ear.

Doncic has been the face of the Mavericks since the team acquired him from the Atlanta Hawks in 2018—and he has arguably been the most consistent player in the lineup for several seasons.

Dallas general manager Nico Harrison defended the deal to ESPN and noted that he was worried about their defense, insisting that trading Doncic for Davis would improve their chance at fighting other teams from scoring any points.

However, the explanation was less than satisfactory for fans who slammed Harrison as rumors swirled that Doncic did not request the trade and has been left less than thrilled about the terms of the deal, according to USA Today.

Parsons then chimed and alleged that Doncic was all the more blindsided because he had just closed on a $15 million property in Dallas one week before being traded.

While speaking on FanDuel’s flagship NBA show, “Run It Back,” Parsons claimed that Doncic had just closed the deal on the new home last week and “cried” when he learned he would no longer be a part of the Dallas Mavericks.

“This dude bought a $15 million house, just closed, like, last week in Dallas,” Parsons claimed. “Apparently, he cried when he found out.”

Parsons did not share any information about the property that Doncic allegedly purchased—and the Dallas Mavericks star’s spokespersons did not return repeated requests for comment.

The claims that Doncic purchased a property have since been refuted, with Doncic’s business agent telling the Dallas Business Journal that a deal for a home in the Texas city was under contract but hadn’t closed.

Per property records, Doncic’s name is listed on the deed of only one property: a four-bedroom home in the Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas.

Built in 1984, the home has had a serious makeover and is now a modern showpiece. It’s also in the middle of a secluded cul-de-sac, a favored locale for high-profile ballers.

Doncic snagged it for $3.3 million in June 2020. When it was up for sale, it was marketed as an “escape from the city,” which also appeals to celebrities who value privacy.

Highlights include an open floor plan, hardwood floors throughout, and a sleek kitchen. The welcoming backyard features a pool, a pavilion with a grill, and a drop-down movie projection screen.

It remains unclear whether Doncic will hold on to the property or sell it—and any other home he may have purchased of late—now that he is bound for the West Coast.

Following the news, Doncic penned a heartfelt message to his fans and to the Dallas community, revealing that he thought he was going to “spend my career” with the team.

“Seven years ago, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level. I thought I’d spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship,” he wrote.

“The love and support you all have given me is more than I could have ever dreamed of. For a young kid from Slovenia coming to the U.S. for the first time, you made North Texas feel like home.

“In good times and bad, from injuries to the NBA Finals, your support never changed. Thank you not only for sharing my joy in our best memories, but also lifting met up when I needed it most.

It is unclear whether Doncic will be selling his Dallas property, or if he has bought a home in the Los Angeles area.

“To all the organizations I’ve worked with throughout the Dallas community, thank you for letting me contribute to your important work and join you in bringing light to those who need it. As I start the next part of my basketball journey, I am leaving a city that will always feel like a home away from home.

“Dallas is a special place, and Mavs fans are special fans. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

Mark Cuban, who used to hold the majority of the shares for the Dallas Mavericks but now holds only 23%, has also commented on the trade, insisting that he had nothing to do with it.

Cuban—who once famously joked he would sooner divorce his wife than let Doncic go to a different team—denied any involvement, according to Dallas-based ABC affiliate WFAA.

It is unclear whether Doncic will be selling his Dallas property or if he has bought a home in the Los Angeles area.

Meanwhile, former Lakers player Davis holds the keys to a $31 million home, which he has not yet revealed whether he will be letting go of because of the trade.

The Lakers and Mavericks faced off in a highly-anticipated game on Feb. 25, which saw the Los Angeles team winning 107 to 99.
